The journey to mental health is a challenging road for patients and their supporting families alike. Enduring the pain. The struggle to find answers. The weight of this journey should not be endured alone. Like a dragonfly’s flight is light and adaptable, the mission and vision of The CJK Foundation is to alleviate the burden and offer support to those in need. The Foundation is a not for profit organization built to create positive change and hope in the darkest of times through advocating awareness, supporting patients and their families undergoing treatment, and raising funds for research. The Foundation was established to continue on the selfless and loving nature of our beloved Connie J Klanica. Connie taught us all to give selflessly, love unconditionally, and to help without question. Her graceful spirit is the guiding light for change by which this Foundation will work to support the journey from awareness to well being.

Mental Health First Aid Classes
Mental Health First Aid is an 8 hour public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help someone in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses roleplaying and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care. An evidence-based training, Mental Health First Aid is managed by the National Council for Behavioral Health.

About Connie J Klanica
Connie Klanica spread joy and kindness within her family and community. She doted over her loved ones and always put others before herself. She was a natural caretaker and was always willing to give a helping hand often going the “extra mile” to help others. Connie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and toasting over a glass of wine. Her favorite color was purple which she often wore. She connected to dragonflies because of their symbolic nature of change and was always on the lookout for dragonflies and other signs that angels and loved ones were near. She loved to laugh and had a way of making people feel special through her thoughtful gestures and loving words. She is eternally loved and forever missed.
